Usura per abrasione- Abrasion type wear

Questo è un classico tipo di usura per abrasione su un dente di un creatore ricoperto con TiN. In questo caso l'usura è di notevole entità e le cause probabili sono o un difetto di adesione del TiN, oppure una temperatura eccessiva nella zona di lavoro che ha deteriorato la struttura del ricoprimento. La rugosità superficiale del substrato è alta e questo può aver ridotto l'adesione del film di TiN. Ciò risulta anche dallo sfaldamento della ricopertura sulla faccia di taglio.

This is the typical abrasion type wear of a hob's tooth coated with TiN.
In this case the wear is very big, probably because the adhesion of the TiN film is not good or the temperature in working area was too high.
We must note also that the roughness of the surface is high, maybe this is a reason of a bad adhesion of the TiN film.
